KeepProof (hereinafter referred to as "the App" or "we") deeply understands the importance of privacy to you. This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we handle your information.

Core Principle

All data stays on your device. We do not upload any of your data to any server, nor do we share your data with any third party.

1. Information We Collect

We Do Not Collect Any Personally Identifiable Information

KeepProof is a local-first application. All functionality is processed locally on your device. We do not collect any of the following information:

  • ❌ Document images or scans

  • ❌ OCR text results

  • ❌ Notes or annotations

  • ❌ Device information (e.g., device model, OS version, IP address, etc.)

  • ❌ Location information

  • ❌ Usage statistics or analytics

In short: Your documents, scans, notes, and reminders belong only to you and stay on your device forever.

2. Data Storage

  • Document scans and images are saved in your device's local storage

  • OCR extracted text is saved in your device's local storage

  • Notes, categories, tags, and reminder settings are saved in your device's local storage

  • App preferences (such as Face ID toggle) are saved in your device's local storage

We cannot access, read, copy, or transmit this data. When you uninstall the App, all local data will be deleted.

3. Data Deletion

You can delete your data in the following ways:

  • Delete individual documents or records directly within the App

  • Uninstall the App (all local data will be automatically cleared)

4. Permissions

This App requires the following permissions, used solely for on-device processing:

You can enable or disable these permissions at any time in your system settings. Disabling permissions may affect the normal use of certain features.

5. AI Feature & Third-Party Data Flow Disclosure

We reiterate: KeepProof does not collect any data — including AI chat content, documents, or any other information you process within the App. All core features (scanning, OCR, notes, reminders) remain fully local.

AI Features Overview

KeepProof optionally integrates AI for intelligent text assistance. There are two modes:

Apple Intelligence (iOS 18+, on-device)

  • Fully processed on your device
  • No data is sent externally

Third-Party AI (user opt-in)

You can optionally configure a third-party AI provider in Settings → AI Engine by entering your own API key.

What is sent: Only the document title, tags, and content fragments relevant to your request. What is NOT sent: Images, device information, or usage statistics.

Data flow: Your data is sent directly from your device to the service provider you configured. We do not relay, store, or process this data.

API key storage: Your API key is stored securely on your device via iOS Keychain.

User control: You can change or disable the third-party AI engine at any time in Settings → AI Engine.

Responsibility boundary: Third-party AI providers handle your data according to their own policies. We encourage you to review them.

Supported Third-Party Providers

Currently supported providers include: OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini. The provider list may change between versions; the in-app options under Settings → AI Engine are authoritative.

6. Face ID / Touch ID

KeepProof optionally uses Face ID or Touch ID to secure your sensitive documents. This authentication is handled entirely by iOS system APIs. We do not have access to your biometric data.

7. Children's Privacy

This App does not collect personal information from any user. We encourage parents to supervise their children's app usage. This App is not designed for children under 13 years of age, nor does it knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will publish the updated version within the App or on the official website. Material changes will be notified through one of the following methods:

  • In-app notification

  • App update changelog

  • Official website announcement

Recent updates: Added the "AI Feature & Third-Party Data Flow Disclosure" chapter. This update does not change our core commitment that we do not collect any user data; it merely transparently discloses the data flow when users voluntarily enable third-party AI.
