SceneBox (hereinafter referred to as "the App" or "we") deeply understands the importance of privacy to you. This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we handle your information.

Core Principle

All data stays on your device. We do not upload any of your data to any server, nor do we share your data with any third party.

1. Information We Collect

We Do Not Collect Any Personally Identifiable Information

SceneBox is a local-first application. All functionality is processed locally on your device. We do not collect any of the following information:

  • ❌ Text content you enter

  • ❌ Photos or videos

  • ❌ Audio recordings

  • ❌ Location information

  • ❌ Annotations or marks on media

  • ❌ Device information (e.g., device model, OS version, IP address, etc.)

  • ❌ Usage statistics or analytics

  • ❌ Generated reports

In short: Your captures, media, annotations, and reports belong only to you and stay on your device forever.

2. Data Storage

  • All capture content (text, photos, videos, audio, location) is saved in your device's local storage

  • Annotations and marks are saved in your device's local storage

  • Generated reports are saved in your device's local storage

  • App preferences are saved in your device's local storage

We cannot access, read, copy, or transmit this data. When you uninstall the App, all local data will be deleted.

3. Data Deletion

You can delete your data in the following ways:

  • Delete individual captures, content items, or reports directly within the App

  • Uninstall the App (all local data will be automatically cleared)

4. Permissions

This App requires the following permissions, used solely for on-device processing:

You can enable or disable these permissions at any time in your system settings. Disabling permissions may affect the normal use of certain features.

5. AI Features

5.1 Apple Intelligence (Default)

When your device supports Apple Intelligence and it is enabled, AI text optimization is processed on-device by Apple Intelligence. No text data is sent to any server.

5.2 Third-Party AI Services (Optional)

You may optionally configure an OpenAI API-compatible service in the app settings. In this case:

  • Only the text you explicitly select for optimization is sent to the configured service

  • No photos, videos, audio recordings, or any other media are sent

  • The service address and API key (if applicable) are stored only on your device

  • We do not control or monitor the third-party service's data handling; please refer to that service's privacy policy

6. Third-Party Services & Data

This App does not use any third-party data analytics services, crash collection services, or advertising services.

  • Your captures, media, or any data will not be sent to any third party
  • Your data will not be used to train any AI or machine learning models
  • Your data will not be used for advertising or user profiling

7. Children's Privacy

This App does not collect personal information from any user. We encourage parents to supervise their children's app usage. This App is not designed for children under 13 years of age, nor does it knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will publish the updated version within the App or on the official website. Material changes will be notified through one of the following methods:

  • In-app notification
  • App update changelog
  • Official website announcement
